picture taker. image maker.
Farkas Photography, L.L.C. was established in 2013, by its sole proprietor, Lindsay Farkas. Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY where she concentrated in both painting and photography. This combination of mediums allowed her to generate a heightened sense of composition and color, while also giving life to an advanced narrative. Portraiture and event photography are among her many specialties, which she approaches with a painterly style and a keen sense of light and detail.
When she’s not shooting, Lindsay loves spending time with her miniature poodle Benji, and her horses Brix & Ari.

tips.
So, you've booked a photo shoot? Here are some helpful tips regarding your upcoming session:
Wear your favorite outfit! It's always great to feel good in the clothes you wear during your shoot.
Bring a second outfit. It's nice to offer a little variety! Try something casual & something a little more "dressy"!
Coordinate! If there will be more than one person in the shots, wear like-colors, or complimenting colors, patterns & textures.
"Prop it up!" Bring an item(s) that will enhance your shots. Here are some prop suggestions: a picnic blanket, champagne & glasses, chalkboard signs, an antique couch/chair, an umbrella, flowers, a wheelbarrow/wagon, or anything that might follow your shoot's "theme".
Light is everything! If you're booking an outdoor shoot, be prepared to meet in either the early morning, or early evening. A rich, golden light is best observed during these times, and really adds that extra magic to your photos!
Allow time for candids. Oftentimes, the greatest shots can be the ones when you're doing something other than "posing". This might be a toast with your significant other, or short stroll through a garden. Whatever your activity, this is a great way to break the traditional "smile for the camera!"
Remember to have fun! These photos are meant to reflect YOU and your unique qualities as a person or couple. Be yourself!
